Software Engineer II

San Diego, CA

PlayStation is looking for a Software Engineer II to expand our team and help improve our next generation Subscriptions Services platform. We build the foundation behind PlayStation Plus and other subscriptions, used by millions of PlayStation players! Subscriptions and Subscriptions Services is an area with lots of interest, potential, and possibilities.

Come work with a dedicated group of engineers passionate about building a scalable, highly available microservice architecture. Collaborate with peers across Engineering, Product, Design, and Quality to craft expansive and reusable solutions. Plan iterative approaches to continually deliver meaningful and impactful changes that improve and expand experiences for operators, business partners, and customers alike.

What you will be doing

  • Develop, maintain, and iterate on real-time, efficient, and highly scalable customer-facing features.
  • Understand the problems, objectives, and goals of business and development teams. Build scalable solutions with iterative improvements to meet those needs.
  • Maintain stability, performance, and quality of the codebase by applying development standards while using automation to support CI/CD workflows.
  • Be a part of a broad team to find and build solutions to technical problems in pursuit of shared objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Computer Science or related fields degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-4 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience writing high-performance code in Java.
  • Experience working with, building, and extending large systems and platforms.
  • Experience with Splunk and/or Datadog.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, SQL, NoSQL, and ReactorJava is a plus.
  • Front-end development experience (React/React Native) is a bonus.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$150,100$225,100 USD
