Job Summary

Join PlayStation as a Tools & Build Software Engineer to drive the future of CI/CD, designing and optimizing scalable pipelines for global game development. This role offers the chance to lead critical initiatives, mentor talent, and shape best practices in a dynamic entertainment leader.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across diverse platforms (PlayStation consoles, Web, Mobile, PC) with a focus on Jenkins and GitHub Actions
  • Modernize and standardize build, test, and release workflows across teams, ensuring reliability, speed, and developer efficiency
  • Partner closely with engineering, QA, and operations teams to understand their workflows and proactively build solutions that remove friction
  • Own the strategy for pipeline health: implement monitoring, automated recovery, and continuous improvements to minimize build/test failures and downtime
  • Develop tools and frameworks to improve build reproducibility, dependency management, and artifact handling
  • Collaborate with global teams to drive alignment on CI/CD strategy and support large-scale software delivery at PlayStation

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with version control (Git, GitHub)
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions at scale
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and working with Linux-based build environments
  • Proven ability to design and maintain scalable build and automation pipelines in complex engineering environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in CI/CD contexts

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience leading CI/CD initiatives or driving adoption of new build/release systems across multiple teams
  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration technologies
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows build environments, including cross-compilation or multi-platform support
  • Familiarity with build acceleration techniques (caching, parallelization, artifact repositories)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across engineering organizations

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. 

 

The estimated Ontario base pay range for this role is listed below.
$116,600$166,000 CAD
