Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes API)

We're looking for a Platform Engineer with proven experience in modern software delivery who loves crafting efficient, flexible and low friction systems to manage workloads at a global scale. Responsibilities

  • Designing and building APIs to support the Kubernetes platform used for provisioning and managing Kubernetes clusters 
  • Development and Implementation of our internal Kubernetes platform
  • Improving Reliability, Performance and Feature Set of the Kubernetes platform based on internal customer needs
  • Identifying and diagnosing issues in deployments together with software development teams

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and operations
  • Experience with Kubernetes development including operators and controllers
  • Demonstrated work with a modern object-oriented programming language, preferably Go
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux systems tooling and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to mentor Junior Members of the team

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to support engineers with solving problems in integrating their systems with core Kubernetes components
  • Experience integrating with globally distributed large scale Private and Public Cloud Environments
  • Experience with Cluster API (CAPI) strongly preferred
  • Proven knowledge in working with bare metal systems on premise or in hybrid cloud environments
  • Deep understanding of IAC, both design and implementation

  • Must be self starter who understands that ownership means distributing the knowledge of your work so that everyone benefits
  • Being a Contributor to Open Source Software is a plus
  • Bonus points for understanding the concepts forwarded by the OCM CNCF project

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$177,300$265,900 USD
