As a Lead QA Tester, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the testing and improvement of PlayStation Studios titles. This role plays a key part in shaping the future of gaming and games testing by overseeing all functionality project-specific activities. You will be responsible for implementing global testing strategies and managing resources, ensuring that PlayStation Studios products meet our high standards. Effective communication with collaborators is essential to address any issues or risks that may arise. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Drive efficiency through consistent test strategy, test management, and reporting, while providing a uniform service experience globally. 
  • Own and communicate all Master Test Plans for assigned projects. 
  • Manage and communicate the global project budgeting for all assigned projects. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with producers and global partners, ensuring clear and standardized outbound communication. 
  • Perform daily monitoring, research, review, and reporting on consistent alignment with processes for all ongoing projects. 
  • Maintain and advance knowledge in quality assurance and control services, particularly within PlayStation Studios QA operations. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration among peers and department teams to ensure alignment, continuous learning, and innovative approaches within PlayStation Studios QA. 
  • Participate in the yearly performance review process, gathering feedback and assisting in performance management on a global scale. 
  • Compile and facilitate global project postmortems to gather insights and drive future improvements. 
  • Project Management Focus:
    • Integration Management: Identify, define, combine, unify, and coordinate the various testing processes and activities for all assigned products encompassing Functional, Localization, TRC, Network, and other testing. 
    • Scope Management: Ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully. 
    • Schedule Management: Manage the accurate completion of the testing project. 
    • Cost Management: Plan, estimate, budget, monitor, and control testing costs so that the projects can be completed within the approved budget. 
    • Quality Management: Establish quality policies, objectives, and responsibilities. Manage master test plans for assigned projects to meet project requirements. 
    • Resource Management: Organize, manage, and lead the project team. 
    • Communications Management: Ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, and monitoring of project information. 
    • Risk Management: Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on all assigned products. 
    • Collaborator Engagement: Analyze the impact of projects on collaborators, customers, partners, and team members. Develop strategies to engage them in decision-making and execution. 

 

Requirements 

  • 2-5 years of experience in QA Operations or a related field. 
  • Expertise in cross-cultural business, remote team interaction, and leadership. 
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Processes. 
  • Familiarity with quality assurance techniques, frameworks, and methodologies. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and critical analysis skills. 
  • Passion for video games. 
  • Experience in budgetary oversight and planning. 
     

Bonus Advantages 

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. 
  • Proficiency in the Japanese language, both spoken and written.
